A. Pengertian.
Passive Voice dalam bahasa Indonesia dikenal dengan istilah kalimat pasif (kebalikan dari kalimat aktif). Dalam hal ini subjek dalam kalimat passive voice dikenai atau menderita atas sebuah pekerjaan. Dalam bahasa Indonesia kalimat pasif biasanya diikuti prefix berupa di- atau ter-. Jika diperhatikan contoh terakhir, maka tidak hanya auxiliary (kata kerja bantu) yang ada dalam rumus tenses saja yang bisa digunakan dalam kalimat pasif, melainkan auxiliary lainnya seperti may, can, could juga bisa digunakan untuk membuat kalimat pasif.
